PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a economical positive working waterless planographic printing plate having a high efficiency. SOLUTION: A substrate having a lipophilic surface is coated with a mixture contg. an ink- and water-repellent polymer or its mixture or precursor as one essential component (A) and a photosensitive compsn. consisting of a dimethylmaleimide photopolymer and a photosensitizer which absorbs UV or visible light as another essential component (B) in a weight ratio A/B of (20-80):(80-20), UV or visible light is allowed to act imagewise on the mixture and the mixture is developed with a suitable developer in accordance with the component B. The components A, B in the area on which UV or visible light does not act are removed by the development to disclose the lipophilic surface of the area and the mixture in the area on which UV or visible light acts is left.
