The invention relates to a metallic casing beam, supported by metallic stanchions, intended for construction works, to support casings of straight plates or ceilings (respectively). According to the invention, the casing beam is made of a rectangular section pipe (1) which is provided at the two extremities with two covers (2). On the lateral sides it is fitted out with consolidating plates (3) and wings (5) for supporting the panels; the superior side of the casing beam is provided with a plate (4) in order to consolidate the resistance; the system pipe (1) - wings (5) is set by using a wedge bolt (7).
