PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the energy density and improve the safety by constituting an electrode body having a negative electrode mixture layer containing an alkali metal powder and/or a metal powder mainly composed of the alkali metal powder, and a positive electrode, housing this electrode body in a battery case, and then injecting an electrolyte thereto. SOLUTION: An electrode body 12 consisting of a positive electrode plate 9, a negative electrode plate 10 and a separator 8 is housed in a battery case 5 together with a nonaqueous electrolyte. The negative electrode plate 10 is manufactured by applying a paste prepared by mixing 91 parts of graphite as host material, 8 parts of polyvinylidene fluoride as binder, and 1 part of lithium metal powder corresponding to the irreversible capacity portion of graphite and properly adding N-methyl-2-pyrolidone thereto to both sides of a current collector consisting of a copper foil 18 μm thick followed by drying. The positive electrode plate 9, the separator 8, the negative electrode plate 10, and the separator 8 are superposed in this order and spirally wound to manufacture the cylindrical electrode body 12, and after it is housed in the battery case 5, the electrolyte is injected thereto. |
