For the treatment and disposal of sewage effluent, the liquid portion is evaporated in a boiler, and the vapors are collected and condensed. The sludge in the boiler is separated and diluted with the condensed liquid. Solids in the vapors, which do not condense, are incinerated. The catch vessel for the condensation is augmented by town water. The installation has a boiler with a burner to take the liquid sewage, and the vapors are led off for condensation. Solids in the vapors are extracted for incineration, and the condensation is used to dilute the sludge remaining in the boiler. The liquid effluent in the boiler (10) is circulated between the boiler and a sealed reservoir (14) to separate the sludge and dilute the liquid effluent. The vapors emerging from the hood (9) are condensed (7), and the condensation is further evaporated for the contained solids to be delivered to an incinerator. The evaporation has the dual function of cooling the heat carrying fluid (18) for condensation and evaporation through an exchange (2) of air/water in the collected and pulverized condensation. The recuperation basin (4) is topped up with town water for the operating cycle.
