PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup and the supporting method of optical pickup easy to assemble and without causing vibration. SOLUTION: This optical pickup supports an objective lens holding cylinder 1 holding an objective lens 4 for collecting a laser beam on an optical disk through a linear elastic member 21 and the objective lens holding cylinder 1 is supported by a plurality of linear elastic members 21 by bending them in a bow shape and arranging them so that the bent and expanded parts mutually confront outward about the center of the objective lens 4. Since the linear elastic member 21 is bent in advance, distortion stress is inherent and since two members each are oppositely bent to each other in the tracking direction, the distortion stress is canceled. Since the natural frequency in a pitching mode and a yawing mode vanishes, resonance may not occur.
