OPTICAL TRANSMISSION SYSTEM USING OPTICAL AMPLIFIER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent production of a code error by correcting a waveform deterioration (sag) caused by a low frequency amplifier characteristic of the optical amplifier. SOLUTION: The system is provided with an optical transmitter that sends an optical signal, an optical receiver 1 that receives the optical signal sent from the optical transmitter, and the optical amplifier that is provided between the optical transmitter and the optical receiver 1 to amplify the optical signal and also with a waveform correction section 9 that corrects waveform deterioration caused by a low frequency amplifier characteristic of the optical amplifier. The waveform correction section 9 is made up of a differentiation circuit 5 that eliminates a low frequency component of the optical signal and a hysteresis comparator 6 that has a hysteresis characteristic with a prescribed threshold level and discriminates a level of a signal outputted from the differentiation circuit 5.
