摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the adverse effect caused by a cross talk and to make obtainable a good display, by providing an interlayer insulating film and setting a specific equation, which is expressed in terms of the ratio of the capacitance between a pixel electrode and a source wiring to the liquid crystal capacitance during a halftone display operation, to be less than a specific value. SOLUTION: The device has a gate wiring, a source wiring 23 and the switching element provided in the vicinity of the cross section of the gate wiring and the wiring 23. An interlayer insulating film 38 is provided on the top of the gate wiring and the wiring 23 and the capacitance ratio = Csd /(Csd +Cls ) is set to be less than 10%, where Csd stands for the capacitance value between a pixel electrode 21 and the source wiring 23 and Cls represents the capacitance value of the liquid crystal, which constitutes of each pixel, during a halftone display. Since the capacitance between the wiring 23 and the electrode 21 is sufficiently small, the signal transmissivity is suppressed, the adverse effect on the display caused by the cross talk, which is the result of the capacitance components between each wiring and the electrode 21, is reduced and a good display can be obtained.</p>
