PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly inform a possessor of the arrival of an incoming call even when the possessor forgets an operation of restoring the portable terminal to a usual operating state by providing an operation limit means to limit the operation of the terminal based on a prescribed operation and an operation limit release means to release the operation of the terminal limited by the operation limit means based on a prescribed condition. SOLUTION: When an incoming call reaches a portable terminal PS in its standby state, a CPU 17 discriminates whether or not a standby mode flag is set in a memory 17A and no incoming call notice is made in the case of the standby state. When a standby timer expires and expiration of time is confirmed, standby mode release is processed according to the flag set to the memory 17A and then the processing is terminated. When a call key in an operation section 19 is depressed before the standby timer expires, the CPU 17 conducts the standby mode release processing and restores the terminal to a usual state and the processing is terminated.
