PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the performance of a system and to surely recover records for errors or faults, in the system concerning a data storage system having plural storage disks. SOLUTION: A nonvolatile RAM(NVRAM) map 45 is a partial set of memory map storage areas, and a disk map 50 belongs to a disk array. An incremental change in the NVRAM map 45 stored in an RAM log image (RLI) 55 is posted by a disk log 60 or a disk-staging log 65. When an 'eject'/'forced draw' post request is generated, the page of transaction log data from the RLI 55 is written to the disk log 60/disk staging log 65. When a loss occurs in the NVRAM before the disk map 50 is updated, the change on the NVRAM map 45 is surely stored in the disk array. |
