PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the analog optical transmission with an excellent S/N characteristic. SOLUTION: The analog optical transmitter is provided with a signal semiconductor laser element 3 that emits a signal light subject to intensity modulation by an analog electric signal 21 at an RF band, an optical fiber 4 through which the signal light emitted from the signal semiconductor laser element 3, and a photodetector 5 that converts the signal light sent through the optical fiber 4 into an electric signal. The signal semiconductor laser element 3 emits a signal light subject to intensity modulation by an additional signal with a frequency lower than a frequency denoting a spectral line width of the signal semiconductor laser element 3 to the optical fiber 4.
