A level indicating apparatus for use with a magnetically-actuated remote fluid level sensor prevents misalignment of its magnetic component. The apparatus has a shaft that moves with changing fluid level in a fluid container being monitored, and the shaft is attached to a magnet housing in which is housed a permanent magnet. The magnet is annularly-shaped and the housing has a curved outer surface that encir cles the magnet and physically obstructs it from any radial motion relative to a long itudinal axis of the shaft. A lip on the top of the housing inhibits axial motion of the magnet, and a mounting hole passing through the housing allows attachment to the shaft. The housing may be made of a plastic material that has a degree of elasticity suffic ient to allow the magnet to be manually forced past the lip, and sufficient to allow a c rimp in the shaft to be forced through the mounting hole, thus allowing the components o f the level indicator to be "snapped" together.
