PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display easily seeably at a proper scroll speed according to contents of an image and the length in the scroll direction, etc., by performing display control at a speed matching with a renewal period decided based on a scroll speed parameter. SOLUTION: A program file specified by an ID is read out from a hard disk device 13, and the image data in it are bit map developed on an image memory 11. The scroll speed parameter described in the program file read out from the hard disk device 13 is gained, and a period command value answering to the parameter is imparted to a data transfer circuit 2, and a period of a frame synchronizing signal FCK is decided. The period is variable set by the period command value from a computer 1. When the bit map image data in a work memory area are transfer distributed to respective ramp drive circuits 4 on a display screen and a scroll display is performed, the display control is performed at a speed matching with the renewal period decided based on the scroll speed parameter.
