PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission method and device for reading the telephone number of the destination of transmission from an original on which the telephone number of the destination of transmission is preliminarily printed in bar code shape and for automatically making transmission to the telephone number by loading a bar code reader on a facsimile. SOLUTION: A bar code reader 5 for reading a bar code 4 in a specific area 3 of a contact glass 2 of a facsimile 1 is loaded on the facsimile. The telephone number of the destination of return (the destination of transmission) is printed like a bar code at a position readable by the bar code reader 5 on an original for transmission. At the time of transmission, the original is set on the contact glass 2, and when a start button 7 is pushed down, the bar code reader 5 automatically reads the telephone number of the other party. Then, the read signal is immediately converted into a calling signal, and connected with the facsimile of the other party. Thus, transmission can be automatically started. |
