PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic solenoid which prevents a plunger from being released from a case and from being damaged. SOLUTION: An electromagnet block 10 and a plunger 20 are accommodated in a case 1 made of iron-based material. A part of the plunger 20 (a shaft 22 and an operating portion 23) protrudes freely advancing or retreating from a protrusion 1b of the case 1. A protective cap 4 made of synthetic resin is press-fitted to this protrusion 1b. In this way, covering the plunger 20 with the protective cap 4 can prevent the plunger 20 and a coil spring from being released from the case 1 and protect the plunger 20 from being damaged.
