PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a wheel crane safely run on the long slope way of a general public road while applying brake and by making other automobiles running in front and back of itself follow. SOLUTION: A control section is added to the controller 22 of a transmission control device 20 for controlling the transmission 3 of a wheel crane provided with a retarder 7 for automatically shifting down the transmission 3 when the running speed of the wheel crane becomes lower than the specified speed prescribed beforehand due to the stepping of a brake pedal while the actual cooling water temperature detected by a water temperature sensor 24 is higher than the specified temperature prescribed beforehand when the actual cooling water temperature of the cooling water after cooling retarder oil is detected by the water temperature sensor 24. In this constitution, retarder oil is effectively cooled due to an increase in cooling water because of an increase in the speed of an engine 1, resulting in the prevention of the retarder 7 from down regulation. Therefore, the wheel crane can run safely followed by other automobiles in front and back of the crane itself on the long slope way of a general public road while applying a brake. |
