PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of carving a push-button switch, which is capable of forming a carved letter having clear outline, superior visibility and abrasion resistance in a key top, and to provide a manufacturing method of cover member for push-button switch. SOLUTION: A thermo-setting resin composition obtained by blending the laser beam absorbing powder, such as carbon black having a mean grain size smaller than that of the laser beam in the thermo-setting resin, is used so as to form a key top 50 with an injection molding or the like. A top surface of this key top 50 is irradiated with a laser beam so as to form a carved part 52, and this carved part 52 is filled with the ink by a screen printing device 79, so as to form a color display unit 53. A base body 4 integrally having a base part 41 and plural thin parts 42 formed freely to be displaced in relation to the base part 41 is formed by injection molding of silicone rubber composition, and the key top 50 is adhered to a surface of the thin part 42 of the base body 40 by the adhesive agent. |
