摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an on-vehicle monitoring apparatus by which a vehicle running at the front in an advance direction and an object such as an obstacle or the like at the front are detected in an actual road state by a method wherein the position and the road state of the running point of an own vehicle are detected by a GPS, the monitoring direction of the on-vehicle monitoring apparatus is made to correspond to the road state and a pitch angle and an azimuth angle are corrected. SOLUTION: Radio waves 11 which are transmitted from a GPS satellite 10 are received by a GPS antenna 12. The latitude and the longitude of an own vehicle are computed by a GPS processor 12 on the basis of position information on the satellite orbit of the GPS satellite 10 and on the basis of time information on the transmission time of the radio waves. In addition, the latitude and the longitude of the own vehicle after a definite time are measured by the GPS processor 13. The position and the running direction of the own vehicle are computed. A road on which the own vehicle is run is identified by a road-information reader 14. The latitude and the longitude of a point at a definite distance on the running road are found. Altitude information in respective positions is obtained, and the inclination of a road surface or the bend angle of the road is computed by a computing device 15. An inclination-angle-portion control signal is output to a pitch-angle drive part 16 and an azimuth- angle drive part 17 from a drive control part 18, and an antenna 3 is turned.</p>
