The invention concerns a food product in which at least one raw material is raw whey. In addition to the whey's original creatine and L-carnitine, the product also contains added creatine or L-carnitine or both. The product can be in powder form, and by adding liquid, for example water, a solution is obtained in which the structure and properties of the raw whey correspond to the original ones. The raw whey powder can be kept for several years. In the manufacturing process, the raw whey is dried to a powder in a drier at underpressure. The raw whey which is to be dried is cooled and sprayed into a container at underpressure in the drier, whereupon the droplets freeze into finely dispersed ice particles. Upon drying, the ice particles are sublimated to vapour. |
