<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a Doppler radar by which a distance up to a target is obtained precisely by a method wherein radio waves which are frequency- modulated are transmitted, a radar echo is compressed by a waveform compressor and the time difference between the transmission start time and the input time of the compressed echo is measured. SOLUTION: The transmission waves 5 of a Doppler radar which is continuously frequency-modulated are transmitted from a transmitter 1, and a radar echo at a target 7 is received by a receiver 2. A distance up to the target 7 is computed in such a way that the time difference between a compressed waveform from a waveform compressor 3 and a transmitted waveform from the transmitter 1 is measured by a time detector 4. In addition, the speed of the target 7 is computed in such a way that the frequency difference in a specified point between a radar-echo waveform from the receiver 2 and the transmitted waveform from the transmitter 1 is measured by a speed detector 8 as a Doppler amount.</p> |
