The invention relates to a method and a device for binding hard covers, for example soft-back book blocks produced by digital printing, and to a book bound according to the method. In the method the book block to be bound is supported and aligned by a first support surface 44 and a second support surface 45, following which the first cover block is aligned on the book block by a third support surface 41 and a fourth support surface 42. The book block is then turned and supported by a fifth 61 and a sixth 62 support surface. Finally the second cover block is supported and aligned on the book block by a fifth 61 and sixth support surface 62.
