The invention relates to novel nitric esters of pentaerythritol of general formula (I) with the meaning of the substituents given in the description. Said substituents can be utilized as pharmaceutical active substances, especially for treating heart and circulatory diseases, as substrates in chemical syntheses and in methods of chemical, pharmacological or clinical analysis and diagnosis.
