Corrosion protection method e.g. for stake contacts used in low-current relays

A method for corrosion protection of stake contacts, in which rivetted contact pieces (1) in a carrier (5) are subjected to limited electroplating surface refining treatment. After the rivetting process and before the surface refining treatment, an adhesive (8) is introduced into the capillary gaps (7) between the contact piece (1) and the carrier, and then subsequently cured. More specifically, a heat-resistant adhesive is used. Use of adhesive in capillaries avoids liquids from electroplating baths infiltrating contacts during subsequent surface refining treatment.
