A multishot MR imaging method in which gradient magnetic field pulses in a read direction (x-direction) are applied to respective segments and navigator echoes V(kx,n) whose phase encoding values are zero are generated and collected. A phase shift map C(kx,n) of the navigator echoes V(kx,n) collected from the n-th segment is generated in a k space as a function in the kx-direction by using a navigator echo V(kx,1) collected from the 1st segment as a reference (Step 11). Then, noise is eliminated from the phase shift map C(kx,n) to smoothen the map C(kx,n) (Step 12 - 16). The image echo signals S(kx,n,m) collected from the n-th segments are corrected in the k space in accordance with the smoothened phase shift map C'(kx,n) of the navigator echoes V(kx,n) to obtain image echo signals S'(kx,n,m) whose phase shift values are corrected (Step 17).
