<p>A method for controlling brightness in a flat panel display includes the step of changing a clock frequency of a pulse width modulation clock to a multiple of a first clock frequency that corresponds to the maximum brightness level of the flat panel display. To operate the flat panel display at a brightness level that is equal to a fraction of the maximum brightness level, the clock frequency is set to a multiple of the first clock frequency, in which the multiple is equal to the inverse of the fraction.</p> |
