A printer having a reduced number of parts of each mechanism thereof and an entirely simplified and miniaturized construction, and capable of being manufactured at a lower cost, comprising a mechanism for feeding recording paper (108) to be printed to the interior of a printer body, which is provided with a means for storing the recording paper (108) therein which comprises trays (104, 106), a paper feed roller (110) roll-contacting the stored recording paper (108) and adapted to separate only one piece of recording paper from a plurality of pieces of recording paper (108) and transfer the separated recording paper, and a pressure means comprising the trays (104, 106) and a plate member (114) which constantly press the recording paper (108) against the paper feed roller (110) to ensure the roll-contacting operation, whereby the recording paper (108) is transferred and fed to the interior of the printer body.
