New quaternary phosphonium resins

Bactericidal water-insoluble quaternary phosphonium resins of formula (I)-(IV) are claimed. P = a resin that can be chloromethylated; R = 4-24 C alkyl; R' = 1-18 C alkyl; n = 2-10; R1-R3 = 1-8 C alkyl; X = Cl, Br, I, NO3 or OH and a = 1, or X = SO4 or CO3 and a = 2; Q = aliphatic tertiary amino; k = carried amount of quaternary aminophosphonium salt per gram of bactericide or carried amount of functional group of quaternary phosphonium salt per gram of bactericide; m = carried amount of the quaternary ammonium group per gram of bactericide; f = carried amount of quaternary ammonium salt per gram of bactericide.
