A sheet turner has a pocket (9) with a converging entry profile (12). The sheets are fed into the pocket along one edge of the converging profile, with a rotating cylinder with axial elastic fingers (13) to push the sheets into the pocket leading edge first. As each sheet hits the stop (18) in the pocket its trailing edge is gripped by the elastic roller and pulled round into the extracting position on the other side of the converging profile and brushed out of the pocket. The pocket stop is adjustable to match the size of the sheets.
