The recording medium (P) is moved between the image carrier drum (2) and the transfer roller (13). A voltage of a first polarity, forms a polarity which is opposed to a polarity, of a charge of the toner applied at the transfer roller element. This voltage if the toner image is to be moved between the image carrier drum and the transfer roller contacts the surface of the image carrier drum; a voltage with a second polarity is applied, which is identical with a charge polarity of a toner, which forms the toner pattern.
