Apparatus and process for coating a web, especially paper or board

A roller carries a web (e.g. card or paper) over part of its wrapped circumference. A coater applies liquid coating to the surface of either web or roller. A sieve belt carrying the web is located between coater and web. The coating is brought into contact with the web through this belt. Independent claims are included for the corresponding paper machine and method of coating.
