Virus protection in a network environment

A network system connects a plurality of terminal apparatuses (3-1-1 through 3-1-m1, 3-2-1 through 3-2-m2, ..., 3-n-1 through 3-n-mn), each of which has a computer virus checking program for checking for computer viruses, and a management apparatus (2; 50; 110; 210). The management apparatus sends computer virus checking requests, which cause the computer virus checking program to check for computer viruses, to the plurality of terminal apparatuses. The plurality of terminal apparatuses, in response to reception of the computer virus checking requests from the management apparatus, start performance of checking the plurality of terminal apparatuses for computer virus through the computer virus checking program and perform checking of the plurality of terminal apparatuses for computer viruses.
