A nozzle connected to a pump is used to direct a jet of liquid against the drum to prevent accumulation of particles. A drum filter for removing particles from a liquid comprises a perforated drum (1), a casing surrounding the drum, a liquid inlet on the outside of the drum, a liquid outlet on the inside of the drum, a motor for rotating the drum, and a scraper in the top of the drum for removing particles adhered to the outside of the drum. A nozzle (16) located on the inside of the casing is oriented towards the inside of the drum below the level of liquid in the casing and essentially at right angles to the liquid flow direction through the drum. The nozzle is connected to a pump for generating a jet of filtered liquid. |
