The outside surfaces or outside surface layers of the hollow fiber membranes 3 are coated with a synthetic high polymer consisting essentially of alkoxy alkyl (meth)acrylate consisting of 1-4C alkoxy groups and 1-4C alkyl groups. The synthetic high polymer does not substantially exist in the inside layers of the hollow fiber membranes 3 or the inside surface layers of the hollow fiber membranes.
