Class 20(iii) Draught &c. excluding means for doors or windows comprises a beading 1 of sponge-rubber encased by a thin skin 2 of rubber which projects from the beading to create an attachment portion 7, the beading being in the form of a flap-like sealing element 3 of approximately V-section with a rounded apex and limbs 4 and 5 of unequal length and the extremity of the shorter limb 4 constituting a hinge point 6 with the attachment portion. The attachment portion may be thickened by spreading some sponge rubber between the projecting limbs of the skin 2, by incorporating a strip of sheet rubber therein, or by folding it upon itself. The portion 7 is folded to U-shape and inserted in a channel-shaped flexible retainer consisting of a metal part 8 and fabric covering 9. The metal part 8 has a series of closely spaced transverse slits opening at alternate sides and one edge 10 projects beyond the portion 7 and is curled inwardly. U-shaped anchoring clips 13 of spring steel are inserted in the retainer about two to three inches apart with their splayed mouths cooperating with the edge 10, and the assembly is applied to the supporting flange 15 with barbs 14 on the clips engaging the flange.
