SEPARATION OF IRON AND NICKEL FROM IRON-NICKEL ALLOY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate iron-nickel alloy into iron and nickel without using an acid solution. SOLUTION: Iron-nickel alloy 3 is charged into a Ca phase 2 to form the Ca phase 2 in which nickel is solid-solved and an Fe phase 4 mainly consisting of Fe in a two-liquid coexistent condition, the Fe phase 4 is separated from the Ca phase 2, and iron contained in iron-nickel alloy 3 is separated. Cerium 6 is added to the Ca phase 2 in which nickel is solid-solved, a cerium-nickel alloy 7 is generated and recovered, and nickel contained in the iron-nickel alloy 3 is separated.
