<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric element wherein the precision of a height dimension from the edge tip end to the bottom surface which is formed of a recessed curved surface and side surfaces of the piezoelectric element, is high. SOLUTION: For this piezoelectric element 1, the height dimension (h), the width dimension (w) and the length dimension (l) of a piezoelectric ceramic of a flat-plate- form member are worked to specified dimensions in advance by obtaining a right angle, and a recessed curved surface 2 is formed on this piezoelectric element 1 which is made into a rectangular parallelopiped. In this case, a grinding stone is rounded in a manner to correspond with the radius of curvature R of the recessed curved surface, and at least one flat surface side of two flat surfaces 3a, 3b being confronted of the piezoelectric element 1, is ground. Thus, the recessed curved surface of an approx. cylindrical surface shape is formed in a manner to cross with the first flat surface 3a, and at the same time, flat surface parts 4a, 4b remain. For this reason, the height dimension (h) of the piezoelectric element 1 is kept at a high precision, and an edge part formed of the recessed curved surface and side surfaces, which has been formed in a conventional piezoelectric element is eliminated, and a defective product due to chips and cracks is eliminated.</p> |
