PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent structural weak point from occurring with regard to the method of constructing a concrete pier by means of connecting precast segments divisionally manufactured in plural numbers together at the girder erecting position by connecting them after accurately and exactly abutting on the connecting end surfaces. SOLUTION: A segment 4b to be newly connected to a segment 4a supported on a timbering is abutted on the segment 4a in a hung and supported condition and both segments 4a, 4b are connected together by causing compressive stress degree on practically the whole area of the connecting end surfaces by means of straining a PC steel 6 covering both segments 4a, 4b is arranged. The newly connected segment 4b is abutted on with a temporary supporting member 18 supported on the timbering 11 and a suspension 17 is removed with deflection restrained. After successively connecting plurality of segments together by repeating such process, a specific amount of prestress covering the plurality of segments is introduced and, thereafter, the temporary supporting member 18 is removed. |
