PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antibody which recognizes Paul-Bunnel antigen specifically and can certainly diagnose the infectious mononucleosis without passing through the complicated purification process of the antigen and necessitating the mass consumption of blood. SOLUTION: As the antibody, a monoclonal antibody, particularly monoclonal antibody PB 2 or monoclonal antibody PB 23, is used. Further, in order to obtain the objective antibody, for example, an animal is immunized with a PB antigen by the usual process to fuse the antibody-forming cells and myeloma cells, hybridomas which produce the antibody recognizing the PB antigen from the resultant hybridomas are selected and the antibody produced by cultivating the hybridomas may be collected.
|
