PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject product suitable for forming an image good in magenta hue and having high fastness by compounding a pigment having a specific structure. SOLUTION: This ink-jet ink contains a pigment of formula I [R1 to R3 are each H or a substituting group; X is hydroxy or NR4 R5 (R4 and R5 are each an aliphatic group or an aromatic group); (n)=0-4]. A compound in which R1 is an alkyl, an acylamino or the like, R2 is an alkyl, a halogen or the like, R3 is H, an alkyl or the like, and X is hydroxy or NR4 R5 (R4 and R5 are each an alkyl) is preferable. Further, when used as a water-soluble pigment, a compound in which at least one of R1 to R5 has sulfo is preferable. When used as an oil-soluble pigment, a compound having no sulfo is preferable. A pigment of formula I may be produced by subjecting a pyrazolone derivative of formula II (Y is H or a leaving group) and p-aminophenol derivative of formula III to oxidative coupling reaction. A pigment of formula I is compounded preferably in an amount of 0.2-10 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of an ink. |
