PRODUCTION OF THICK CERAMIC FILM BY METAL ORGANIC DECOMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a substantially crack-free thick ceramic film having a high quality on a substrate. SOLUTION: A solution precipitation coating composition is used for producing a thick ceramic film on a substrate. The coating composition includes a metal organic decomposition(MOD) binder solution containing the powder of a metal oxide ceramic in an amount of 50-65 wt.% based on the total weight of the coating composition. The coating composition can be used for wide metal oxide ceramics. A substantially non-cracked ceramic film having a thickness of about 1-10 μm is produced from one layer of a coating composition. Plural layers of the coating composition can be used to produce an about 100 μm thick ceramic film comprising plural layers.
