PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a molten metal surface level control device in a mold which has high restraining performance to disturbance and stably controls even in the case the mold level control objection receives the disturbance. SOLUTION: An H∞enlarging system 42 obtains an added conditional variable (z) based on a deviation (e) between a mold level commanded value (r) and the mold level detected value (y). A conditional feedback arithmetic means 43 obtains a conditional feedback arithmetic quantity (u1 ) based on the added conditional variable (z), stopper actual position (x) and mold level detected value (y). A nonlinear term arithmetic means 44 obtains a nonlinear feedback quantity (ua1 ) based on the added conditional variable (z), stopper actual position (x) and mold level detected value (y). An adder 45 obtains a stopper positional command value (u) by adding the conditional feedback arithmetic quantity (u1 ), nonlinear feedback quantity (un1 ) and transmits this command value to a stopper control device 50.
