PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent leakage of ink from a rear end of a writing instrument. SOLUTION: The writing instrument comprises an ink 11 in a barrel 3 having a tip 2, a follower 12 advancing in the case of consuming the ink 11, an outer tail plug 4 made of a cylinder with a bottom and inserted into an outer surface of a rear part of the barrel 3, and a vent passage 6 formed between the outer surface of the rear part of the barrel 3 and an inner surface of the plug 4 to communicate with an interior of the barrel 3 via a rear end opening of the barrel 3. In this case, a vent port 61 for communicating the passage 6 with the atmosphere is provided forward from the rear end opening of the barrel 3. |
