The combination flex comprises a tube (17) of a supple material with an inner duct (27) for feeding water or steam to the iron, and one or more lengthwise channels (37) in its outer surface to receive electrical leads. The edges of the channels have lips (47) which partially or completely enclose the channels, which lie parallel to the lengthwise axis of the flex or are in a long-pitch spiral round it. The tube, e.g. of rubber or plastic, can be enclosed in a sleeve of a woven, braided or knitted material or coating.
