SOLUTION: An inversion refixing submode to make the recording material S which passes through the fixing unit 400 once pass through the fixing unit at least once again by inverting its surface and backside in the one-side mode is provided to be selected and the hardness of the surface layer of a second roller 420 is set to be higher than that of the surface layer of a first roller 410.
