PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a developing device capable of prolonging the life of a developing sleeve by forming a part abutted on the sleeve, of metal constituted so that the difference between the coefficients of linear expansion of the metal and the sleeve is <= a specific value and making thermal conductivity higher than that of the metal of which a part not abutted on the sleeve is formed. SOLUTION: The developing device 2 has the developing sleeve 2a, the surface of the developing device 2 is coated with a resin layer including conductive grains, etc., and a flange for supporting the developing sleeve 2a consists of two or more kinds of metallic members. Then, the part abutted on the sleeve of the flange, out of the part constituting the flange is formed of the metal constituted so that the difference between the coefficients of linear expansion of the metal and the sleeve is <= 5 (K<1> ) and the thermal conductivity is higher than that of the metal of which the part not abutted on the sleeve, of the flange is formed. By such a constitution, a high-quality image not having a hot image and an irregularity in the pitch of the sleeve can be provided, the resistance to wear of the flange is improved and the developing device whose life is prolonged can be obtained. |
