PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LAN switch without affecting the communication of another logic network even in the case that a device belonging to a specific logic network has a broadcast storm or a multi-cast storm due to fault or the like. SOLUTION: This LAN switch having a system unit VLAN function is provided with a means that sets VLAN limiter flags l1-ln of a corresponding VLAN in the case there is any count per unit time in excess of a prescribed threshold level in VLAN broadcast multi-cast counters c1-cn in a VLAN multi- cast frame count means 4 and with a reception frame abort means 19 that aborts a reception frame in the case that a destination address of the reception frame is a broadcast address or a multi-cast address and corresponds to a VLAN whose VLAN limiter flags l1-ln are set.
