PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain good travelling property, winding property, cutting accuracy and cutting property by specifying the center face average roughness of the back layer surface of a paper base measured by a probe-type three-dimensional surface roughness meter with a specified cutoff value. SOLUTION: A resin layer containing a film-forming resin is applied on the surface of a paper base essentially comprising natural pulp opposite to the surface where an image forming layer is to be formed, and the resin layer is roughened. Further a back layer is applied on the resin layer. The center face average roughness (SRa1) on the surface of the back layer in the paper making direction measured by a probe-type three-dimensional surface roughness meter with 0.8 mm cutoff is specified to 1.35 to 2.35μm. Further, the center face average roughness (SRa2) on the surface of the back layer in the paper making direction measured by a probe-type three-dimensional surface roughness meter with 0.025 mm cutoff is specified to 0.20 to 0.45μm. The resin layer is roughened by using a roughened cooling roll as a cooling roll when the resin compsn. is applied by melt-extruding coating method.
