PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the exhausting of developer from being incorrectly recognized by an operator and to prevent an unnecessary waiting time from being given to the operator by providing a device with a turning type developing device and a developer near-end discrimination means detecting the remainder of the developer at a developer housing part and discriminating the shortage of the remainder. SOLUTION: A control method by which the remainder of toner in a case for receiving toner is detected again after the revolver type developing unit 230 is rotated once when the near-end of the toner is detected and a display for indicating the near-end of the toner is executed on a control panel when the near-end of the toner is continuously discriminated is adopted. By rotating the unit 230 once, the remaining toner is supplied to the case for receiving toner. When the remaining toner is supplied to the case, a recess opposed to a light emission part is buried in the toner and the near-end of the toner cannot be discriminated by a CPU. therefore, the display for indicating the near-end of the toner is not executed on the control panel and the near-end of the toner is not incorrectly recognized by the operator. |
