An outlet for gases from a septic tank consists of a pipe (4) containing a filter inside a filter holder (2) connected to threaded ends (3) of the pipe by rings (5) and seals (1). The filter is made from activated carbon inside a housing with a molded component at each end covered with a layer of fine mesh and layers of felt and low density foam.
