PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the failure of photographic property small even in the case of applying a rapid development processing and to make attainable excellent sensitivity and the stability of gradation, by color developing a specified silver halide color photosensitive material in a color developer containing a specified compound for a specified time. SOLUTION: A platelike silver halide having an aspect ratio of >=5 and 0.1μm to 0.3μm thickness occupies >=50% of total projected surface area in the silver halide color photosensitive material. A silver halide emulsion, in which >=50% of the platelike silver halide has <15 mol.% max. silver iodide content in the phase except the outermost layer and >=6 mol.% silver iodide content in the outer most layer and which has >=5 transferring lines per 1 particle, is incorporated at lest in one layer. The color developing time is controlled to 30 sec to 120 sec and a compound expressed by a formula is incorporated in the color developer. In the formula, each of R1 and R2 represents hydrogen atom, a 1-3C alkyl group or an alkoxy group. Where, both R1 and R2 never represent hydrogen atom at the same time.
