PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital electronic camera with excellent handleability for automatically recognizing a function mode corresponding to a direction to which a photographing camera part is turned at present in the case that the function of a portable telephone and a PHS is provided. SOLUTION: At the time of photographing images, a user turns the photographing camera part 21 to an outer side as indicated in (a) and a direction sensor 11 recognizes that the user is to perform photographing, transmits to a microcomputer 7 that it is a photographing mode and functions as the photographing mode under the management of the microcomputer 7. Then, at the time of using this camera as a video telephone, the user turns the photographing camera part 21 to an inner side as indicated in (b) and the direction sensor 11 recognizes that the user is to use it as the video telephone, transmits to the microcomputer 7 that it is a video telephone mode and functions as a video telephone mode under the management of the microcomputer 7. |
